Whether you have a few days or a whole season, WWOOFing is a unique way to get out of the city and experience life on an organic family farm or garden. If you're willing to get your hands in the dirt or otherwise help out, it can be the experience of a lifetime — and cost next to nothing.<br />

• What: Work-stay positions with food, accommodations, hands-on learning -- live and learn on homesteads, gardens & farms -- volunteer<br />
• Why: Healthy outdoor work on organic family farms, learn to garden or farm, healthy lifestyle, self-sufficient living, responsible travel<br />
• Where: 132 countries -- 850 locations in Canada alone<br />
• Who: all ages and levels of experience<br />
• When: spring, summer or fall (some hosts also welcome Wwoofers in winter)<br />
• Duration: negotiable -- a few days, weeks or a whole season<br />
• Cost: Canadian membership is $50 for 2 years (or $65/couple)<br />
