Position: Solar Development Coordinator<br />

Job Description: Entry level position<br />
Employment: Full time, six-month contract<br />
Dates: February 11th, 2019 start date<br />
<br />
General Tasks<br />
<br />
Solar site assessments<br />
• Determination of potential solar energy resource by way of remote and on-site assessment at facilities and specified lands<br />
• Modelling of potential solar resource and project layouts using software suites such as PVSyst, PVWatts, Aurora Solar and Helioscope<br />
• Meeting with clients regarding their solar project interest and discussing options relevant to their specific project requirements<br />
• Working alongside third party contractors to gather detailed structural, civil, geotechnical & electrical information for proposed project sites<br />
<br />
Project design<br />
• Determination of most appropriate project components for project optimization (ie: modules, inverters, racking, BOS, etc.) based on project requirements, restrictions & client preferences<br />
• Preparation of site plans, single line diagrams, grid interconnection & permit applications relevant to the proposed project<br />
• Working with third-party consultants to produce finalized construction drawings<br />
• Drafting shading reports, wiring losses, & production forecasts specific to proposed projects<br />
<br />
Proposal preparation<br />
• Compiling production forecasts, system design details and financial metrics to produce professional proposals on behalf of the company to perspective clients<br />
<br />
Procurement of project components<br />
• Working with various third-party suppliers to source components for upcoming projects at competitive prices<br />
• Managing logistics of component shipments to job sites<br />
• Inspection and assessment of project components upon arrival to the site and regularly assessing the available component inventory<br />
• Keeping informed on new product offerings that are entering the market and determining if they are appropriate for upcoming projects<br />
<br />
Construction management<br />
• Working with third-party contractors to ensure systems are installed according to manufacturers installation manuals and to the specified design<br />
• Coordinating contractors, clients, and suppliers to ensure projects are completed on schedule<br />
<br />
Requirements/asset for the position<br />
• University degree or college diploma in science, engineering, technology, construction management, or other relevant fields<br />
• Proficiency with technical and/or solar specific software (CAD, PVSyst, PVWatts, Aurora Solar, Helioscope, etc.)<br />
• Strong communication skills<br />
• Highly organized<br />
• Attention to detail<br />
• Autonomous work with minimal supervision<br />
