Salary: $43,500 (pro-rated to 25% full time)<br />

Supervision: Provincial Coordinator report to ACIC’s Program Officer – Training + Development<br />
<br />
The Atlantic Council for International Cooperation (ACIC) is a coalition of individuals, organizations, and institutions working in the Atlantic region, which are committed to achieving global sustainability in a peaceful and healthy environment, with social justice, human dignity, and participation for all. ACIC supports its members in international cooperation and education through collective leadership, networking, information, training and coordination, and represents their interests when dealing with government and others.<br />

ACIC also takes a leadership role in engaging Atlantic Canadians around issues relating to international development, global sustainability, and social justice. Through our public engagement work, ACIC strives to give Atlantic Canadians the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to become active global citizens.<br />

Description<br />
<br />
Working closely with a four-person team, the provincial coordinators have overall responsibility for supporting members within their respective province, including assessing capacity building and other needs, providing networking support, developing partnerships and supporting ACIC’s programming within their respective province.<br />
<br />
Primary responsibilities include:<br />
• Build and grow relationships with and among existing provincial ACIC members and partners<br />
• Assist in identifying and approaching potential new members and developing relationships with strategic partners;<br />
• Encourage and facilitate broad-based participation in ACIC’s public engagement activities, including ACT 4 Global Change Youth programming, ACIC’s International Indigenous Youth Internship Program and International Development Week (IDW) activities;<br />
• Organize regular networking opportunities, such as breakfast meetings, lunch and learns, ‘Member Mingles’ or ‘Development Drinks’;<br />
• Provide logistical support for ACIC-supported capacity-building activities;<br />
• Support organization of a provincial public events during International Development Week (annually, during the first week of February) highlighting the work of ACIC members;<br />
• Support coordination and promotion of the annual Symposium in St. John’s, Oct. 3-4, 2019<br />
<br />
Provincial Coordinators will also be required to:<br />
• Ensure activities are completed according to the intended outcomes, budget and timelines established;<br />
• Submit brief reports on activities, including documentation of good practices and lessons learned<br />
<br />
Desired Experience, Skills and Qualifications:<br />
• Background/studies in international development, social sciences, environmental studies, event coordination, communications, public relations, education, or equivalent<br />
• Knowledge of global issues, the Sustainable Development Goals and relevant organizations working with youth in these fields in the Atlantic Region<br />
• Experience organizing logistics for meetings, workshops or other events<br />
• Ability to establish professional relationships with partner groups, youth, and the general public<br />
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills<br />
• Excellent organizational and time management skills<br />
• Ability to work independently<br />
