Location: Based in Halifax, travel throughout Nova Scotia & New Brunswick <br />

Employment: Full time, twelve-month initial contract<br />
Dates: September 30th, 2019<br />

We are currently seeking an addition to our growing solar energy team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for renewable energy and will support our growing solar energy business by working directly with our existing and future clients to ensure that their commercial-scale solar energy projects are developed in a responsible, sustainable and professional manner.<br />
<br />
Primary Objective<br />
<br />
To manage the development & delivery of Natural Forces commercial-scale solar energy projects across Atlantic Canada. The position will involve any of the following:<br />
<br />
General Tasks<br />
<br />
Project development<br />
Meeting with clients & stakeholders regarding the goals & requirements of their solar energy system (ie: environmental, economic, educational, innovation, etc.)<br />
Clearly communicate these goals & requirements with the design team<br />
Review proposed system designs with the client to ensure that their requirements are met<br />
Discuss costs & benefits of potential system design options with clients & stakeholders in a clear & concise manner<br />
Working alongside third party contractors to gather detailed structural, civil, geotechnical & electrical information for client facilities<br />
<br />
Project financing<br />
Keep up-to-date with current landscape of grants, loans, rebates & other incentives<br />
Review project financing options with clients<br />
Support clients with their grant, loan, rebate &/or incentive applications & execution of project financing agreements<br />
<br />
Contract management<br />
Negotiate contracts with clients based on pro-forma contracts<br />
Work with third party legal consultants to ensure final project contracts are suitable for the client & Natural Forces<br />
Manage the execution of contracts<br />
<br />
Business development<br />
Keep up-to-date with Municipal, Provincial & Federal programs that effect the feasibility & demand for commercial solar energy systems<br />
Meeting with potential clients to discuss their renewable energy goals<br />
Preparation & delivery of presentations directly to clients & at conferences, tradeshows, etc.<br />
Preparation of proposals in response to RFP/RFQs<br />
<br />
Requirements/asset for the position<br />
Requirements<br />
Minimum 2 years of professional experience in management, public relations, marketing, sales, business development, or other related field<br />
Previous experience working with contracts, grants, financing, etc.<br />
Strong verbal & written communication skills<br />
Ability to understand new technologies & explain them in a simple, concise manner<br />
Autonomous work with minimal supervision<br />
Regular travel within Atlantic Canada<br />
Assets<br />
University degree or diploma in science, engineering, technology, or other relevant field<br />
Previous experience working with First Nations Communities<br />
<br />
Remuneration<br />
$50,000-55,000 annual salary, based on candidates previous experience & qualifications<br />
