About the Institute<br />
<br />
Launched in early 2019, the Institute’s mission is to generate, communicate and mobilize trusted information and policy advice to stakeholders on climate mitigation, adaption and clean growth. We are an independent national research institute committed to highly credible, integrated and inclusive research, analysis, and engagement with experts and practitioners from across the country.<br />
<br />
In addition to filling critical gaps in policy research, we aim to expand the national conversation on climate change to include a greater diversity of voices who can make an important contribution and offer fresh perspectives on climate change impacts and solutions.<br />
<br />
The Role<br />
<br />
We are seeking a highly creative and strategic team player wanting to contribute at the ground level as we build the Institute’s capacity to realize its mission. Reporting to the Vice President, Communications and Engagement, the Director of Communications will support the development of the Institute’s communications strategy and lead its implementation as we work to advance research and policy solutions on climate change in Canada.<br />
<br />
Preferred Qualifications and Experience<br />
• At least five years’ professional work experience in communications, journalism, and/or marketing, ideally with a focus on communicating environmental, energy, and/or related public policy issues.<br />
• A university degree in communications, sustainability, public policy or related areas.<br />
• Evidence of success in strategic communications planning, implementation and impact.<br />
• Experience leading or managing high-performing teams and/or mentoring others.<br />
• A demonstrated commitment to the Institute’s mission and mandate.<br />
• Impeccable editorial standards and project management skills<br />
• Experience producing and overseeing the development of publications, written copy, digital content and other communications products.<br />
• Established relationships with Canadian journalists in the climate, energy and environmental policy fields, and a strong record of securing earned media coverage.<br />
• Experience creating videos, memes and other engaging social media content, running digital engagement campaigns, and measuring impact.<br />
• Strong French and English oral and written skills preferred.<br />

• Work is done in a virtual environment with Institute staff located across the country.<br />
• The role is a full-time salaried position with occasional travel.<br />
• Salary is competitive and will be based on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.<br />

À propos de l’ICCPCC<br />
<br />
L’Institut canadien pour la croissance propre et les changements climatiques (ICCPCC) a été instauré au début de 2019, et sa mission est de produire, communiquer et mobiliser de l’information fiable, ainsi que d’offrir aux parties prenantes des conseils sur les politiques en matière d’atténuation, d’adaptation et de croissance propre liées au climat. Nous sommes un institut de recherche national autonome voué à la recherche, l’analyse et l’engagement hautement crédibles, intégrés et inclusifs avec des experts et des praticiens des quatre coins du pays.<br />

En plus de combler les failles cruciales en recherche de politiques, nous aspirons à élargir la conversation nationale sur les changements climatiques, afin d’inclure une plus grande diversité de voix qui peuvent apporter une contribution importante et offrir de nouvelles perspectives sur les impacts et les solutions en matière de changements climatiques.<br />

Le poste<br />
<br />
Nous recherchons un membre d’équipe très créatif et stratégique souhaitant contribuer à un tout nouvel organisme alors que nous renforçons la capacité de l’ICCPCC de réaliser sa mission. Relevant du vice-président, Communications et Engagement avec les parties prenantes, le directeur des Communications contribuera à l’élaboration de la stratégie de communications de l’ICCPCC et dirigera sa mise en śuvre, alors que nous faisons progresser la recherche et les solutions de politiques en matière de changements climatiques au Canada.<br />
<br />
Compétences et expérience souhaitées<br />
• Au moins cinq années d’expérience de travail professionnel en communications, journalisme ou commercialisation, idéalement avec un accent sur la communication de questions d’environnement et d’énergie, ainsi que de politiques publiques connexes.<br />
• Diplôme universitaire en communications, durabilité, politiques publiques ou dans des domaines connexes.<br />
• Preuves de réussite en planification, mise en śuvre et impact de communications stratégiques.<br />
• Expérience en direction ou gestion d’équipes à haut rendement ou en mentorat.<br />
• Engagement démontré à l’égard de la mission et du mandat de l’ICCPCC.<br />
• Excellentes compétences en normes éditorialistes et gestion de projets.<br />
• Expérience en production et surveillance d’élaboration de publications, de textes écrits, de contenu numérique et d’autres produits de communications.<br />
• Relations établies avec des journalistes canadiens dans les domaines du climat, de l’énergie et des politiques environnementales, ainsi qu’une solide feuille de route pour obtenir une couverture médiatique acquise.<br />
• Expérience en création de vidéos, de mèmes et d’autre contenu de médias sociaux engageant, en organisation de campagnes d’engagement numérique, ainsi qu’en mesure de l’impact.<br />
• Fortes compétences préférées en français oral et écrit.<br />

• Le travail s’effectue dans un environnement virtuel avec le personnel de l’ICCPCC travaillant de partout au pays.<br />
• Il s’agit d’un poste rémunéré à temps plein nécessitant des déplacements occasionnels.<br />
• Le salaire est concurrentiel et sera établi en fonction des compétences et de l’expérience de la personne retenue.<br />
