About the Institute<br />
<br />
Launched in early 2019, the Institute’s mission is to generate, communicate and mobilize trusted information and policy advice to stakeholders on climate mitigation, adaption and clean growth. We are an independent national research institute committed to highly credible, integrated and inclusive research, analysis, and engagement with experts and practitioners from across the country.<br />
<br />
In addition to filling critical gaps in policy research, we aim to expand the national conversation on climate change to include a greater diversity of voices who can make an important contribution and offer fresh perspectives on climate change impacts and solutions.<br />
<br />
The Role<br />
<br />
We are seeking a highly creative, energetic and collaborative engagement specialist committed to building the Institute’s capacity to realize its mission. Reporting to the Vice President, Communications and Engagement, the Director of Engagement will support the development and lead the implementation of an engagement strategy to help share research outcomes, build support for solutions and generate productive, strategic dialogue among a diverse constituency involved in, or affected by, climate change policy.<br />
<br />
Preferred Qualifications and Experience<br />
• At least five years’ work experience in stakeholder engagement and/or leadership related to sustainability, engaging diverse communities and building partnerships to achieve social change.<br />
• A university degree in public policy, sustainability, law, communications or related areas.<br />
• Evidence of success in strategic engagement planning, implementation and impact.<br />
• A demonstrated commitment to the Institute’s mission and mandate.<br />
• Familiarity with climate change policy issues, challenges and influencers in Canada.<br />
• Knowledge of federal, provincial, territorial and municipal roles and responsibilities.<br />
• Experience organizing, moderating and facilitating strategic discussions, events and workshops across sectors, cultures, disciplines and belief systems.<br />
• Experience with ‘art of hosting’ techniques and/or similar engagement methods and approaches for fostering dialogue, innovation and providing space for all voices to be heard in an effort to build understanding and co-create practical solutions to complex challenges.<br />
• Proven ability to lead and/or mentor high-performing teams and individuals.<br />
• Strong French and English oral and written skills preferred.<br />

• Work is done in a virtual environment with Institute staff located across the country.<br />
• The role is a full-time salaried position with occasional travel.<br />
• Salary is competitive and will be based on the skills and experience of the successful candidate.<br />

À propos de l’ICCPCC<br />
<br />
L’Institut canadien pour la croissance propre et les changements climatiques (ICCPCC) a été instauré au début de 2019, et sa mission est de produire, communiquer et mobiliser de l’information fiable, ainsi que d’offrir aux parties prenantes des conseils sur les politiques en matière d’atténuation, d’adaptation et de croissance propre liées au climat. Nous sommes un institut de recherche national autonome voué à la recherche, l’analyse et l’engagement hautement crédibles, intégrés et inclusifs avec des experts et des praticiens des quatre coins du pays. <br />

En plus de combler les failles cruciales en recherche de politiques, nous aspirons à élargir la conversation nationale sur les changements climatiques, afin d’inclure une plus grande diversité de voix qui peuvent apporter une contribution importante et offrir de nouvelles perspectives sur les impacts et les solutions en matière de changements climatiques. <br />

Le poste<br />
<br />
Nous recherchons un spécialiste en engagement créatif, énergique et collaboratif engagé à renforcer la capacité de l’ICCPCC de réaliser sa mission. Relevant du vice-président, Communications et Engagement avec les parties prenantes, le directeur de l’Engagement avec les parties prenantes contribuera à l’élaboration d’une stratégie d’engagement et dirigera sa mise en śuvre, afin d’aider à partager les résultats de recherche, renforcer l’appui à des solutions, ainsi qu’engendrer un dialogue productif et stratégique parmi une clientèle diversifiée engagée dans les politiques de changements climatiques et touchée par celles-ci. <br />
<br />
Compétences et expérience souhaitées<br />
• Au moins cinq années d’expérience professionnelle en engagement avec les parties prenantes ou en leadership liés à la durabilité, à l’engagement de communautés diversifiées et au renforcement de partenariats en vue de produire des changements sociaux.<br />
• Diplôme universitaire en politiques publiques, durabilité, droit, communications ou dans des domaines connexes. <br />
• Preuves de réussite en planification, mise en śuvre et impact d'engagement stratégique.<br />
• Engagement démontré à l’égard de la mission et du mandat de l’ICCPCC.<br />
• Connaissance des questions, des défis et des influenceurs en matière de politiques de changements climatiques au Canada.<br />
• Connaissance des rôles et responsabilités des paliers fédéral, provincial, territorial et municipal.<br />
• Expérience en organisation, modération et facilitation de discussions, d’événements et d’ateliers dans des secteurs, cultures, disciplines et systèmes de croyances diversifiés.<br />
• Expérience dans les techniques de l’« art d’accueillir » ou des méthodes et approches d’engagement semblables, afin de favoriser le dialogue, l’innovation et l’offre d’espaces permettant que toutes les voix soient entendues, en vue d’accroître la compréhension et de co-créer des solutions pratiques à des défis complexes.<br />
• Capacité démontrée de diriger ou de mentorer des équipes et des personnes à haut rendement.<br />
• Fortes compétences préférées en français oral et écrit.<br />

• Le travail s’effectue dans un environnement virtuel avec le personnel de l’ICCPCC travaillant de partout au pays.<br />
• Il s’agit d’un poste rémunéré à temps plein nécessitant des déplacements occasionnels.<br />
