Position: Journalist (technical writer)<br />

Passive Buildings Canada (PBC) is a national non-profit organization with a mandate to assist Canadians in reducing building energy consumption and carbon emissions. This accomplished by sharing Passive House construction practices and robust building science knowledge and experience. <br />
<br />
This position is supported by the Canada Summer Jobs program and the worker must be 30 years old or younger and be eligible to work in Canada. The work is supported by members of the PBC community. The position is $18/hour, 30 hours a week for 10 weeks<br />
<br />
The technical writer will primarily research and write articles (approx 300-1,000 words) to be published on the PBC website (and promoted through social media, newsletter, etc) that help highlight the cutting-edge work being done in sustainable building. In addition the technical writer may assist PBC members in posting information on passive house projects on the PBC website (compiling key information).<br />
Strong writing skills including presenting complicated material in a journalistic style<br />
Experience with journalist writing, including research (internet and personal interview)<br />
Demonstrated interest in environmental issues, knowledge of green construction industry an asset<br />
Ability to write in French an asset<br />
Access to a computer and home office<br />
