Summary of the Position: <br />
<br />
The Clean Education & Engagement teams focus is to develop and deliver programming that fosters awareness, appreciation, and empathy for the natural world. We equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and tools to make educated decisions, and show them that they have the power to make a difference in their own lives, workplaces, and communities.<br />
<br />
Our team is growing, and we are looking for an experienced Program Developer who wants to keep one foot in the classroom by contributing to our education programs.<br />
<br />
Reporting to the Manager of Education Initiatives, the Program Development Lead will be tasked with the creation of new educational programs, as well as reviewing, refining, and modifying existing programs. Though this will not be the primary responsibility, the Program Developer will also act as part-time Educator where necessary to support the team in delivering quality environmental education programming across a range of grades, as well as Professional Development for Teachers. The Program Developer will be a highly creative, experienced educator or curriculum developer with deep roots in environmental or sustainability education. We are looking for a team-player who works well in collaborative environments.<br />

Duties and Responsibilities: <br />
Leading the research, review, and development of youth climate workshops, both virtual and in person, with a focus on local action<br />
Reviewing existing programming and modifying existing education programs<br />
Maintaining current knowledge of the Atlantic Canada curriculum<br />
Collaborating with provincial partners for alignment of youth climate education workshops across the Atlantic region<br />
Supporting Educators in delivering this important programming, including supporting youth actions that are derived from the workshops.<br />
Collecting and analysing youth and educator feedback to improve programs for future delivery.<br />
Deliver engaging presentations or workshops, at conferences and summits, on program successes and learnings.<br />
<br />
Education and Required Qualifications: <br />
B. Ed Intermediate/Sr, prefer science background<br />
Experience in Curriculum/Program development<br />
Passion for environmental education<br />
Collaborative, creative and enthusiastic<br />
Comfortable working in fast-paced and diverse team<br />
Bilingual (French and English) an asset.<br />
Familiar with existing climate education best practices and programs<br />
<br />
Working Conditions:<br />
<br />
Additional hours, or time outside of the normal work hours, may be required to meet operational requirements of planning and delivering specific projects at specific times of the year. Travel may also be required.<br />
