Mulgrave Road Theatre is currently seeking applications for the position of
Artistic Director. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Artistic
Director is responsible for providing the artistic direction as well as
sharing the administrative direction necessary for the successful operation
of the theatre.

Working from its base in Guysborough, Nova Scotia, Mulgrave Road Theatre is
committed to the creation, development and presentation of original
professional works of theatre. As a professional touring company Mulgrave
Road Theatre has built a reputation for presenting original plays, which
reflect the spirit of Atlantic Canadians to urban and rural audiences.

Duties include:

-identify,develop and produce plays within the scope of the mandate
-work with playwrights to develop scripts through dramaturgy,
playwrights-in-residence and workshops
-hire all technical and artistic personnel
-explore new project possibilities for future productions
-liaise with government, corporate and arts organizations
-prepare, in conjunction with the Administrator, the annual budget and grant
applications for funding bodies.
-take an active role in productions as director or production manager

Salary: between 26,000 and 29,000 depending upon qualifications
