Equity Showcase Theatre is delighted to offer a new class with Peter Van
Wart designed to reveal the secrets in Shakespeare's texts thus enhancing
the actors'  ability to perform the bard's work.

"Shakespeares' Clues" with Peter Van Wart (Class #932)

This course will help the actor to de-mystify and utilize the iambic
pentameter and implement the clues and codes Shakespeare intended for his
company of actors now found in the first folios. Participants will have
prepared one sonnet of their choice and will be assigned a scene and
partner. Participants will be expected to do a significant amount of work
outside of class hours. Peter credits the evolution of this work to the
following; Patsy Rodenburg, Neil Freeman, Steven Kent, Yoshi Oida, Michelle
George, David Smukler, Alberto Fortuzzi, Patrick Tucker, Theresa Kim,
Patrick Christopher, Stewart Pearce and of course Equity Showcase Theatre

"Shakespeare's Clues" runs from May 21 - June 12, 2002, Tuesdays &
Wednesdays 12:00pm - 3:00pm

COSTS FOR EQUITY MEMBERS: $210
COSTS FOR NON-EQUITY MEMBERS: $235
Subsidies for Equity members are provided by Equity's professional
development fund.
