The St. Lawrence Stage Company in Brockville Ontario is seeking a
dynamic, experienced individual for the position of: Production Director
for our 2003 season. Tentative dates of engagement - May 19 - September
5, 2003 (16 weeks)

This position combines the responsibilities of a Production Manager and
Technical Director.

Working with a small professional staff, casual labour and volunteers,
duties will include but not be limited to:
Oversee all aspects of Production for the theatre
maintain expenses within the production budgets of all productions
schedule all Production activity
coordinate production meetings
supervise and assist with construction, purchasing, procurement
supervise and assist with delivery and installation of rented sets,
costumes etc, as well as the construction and installation of in-house
sets, props
etc.
supervise and assist with tech week, including set ups, hangs, focuses,
levels, rehearsals etc.
supervise and assist with strikes, load outs and returns
supervise and assist with maintenance of production elements
supervise and assist with Sunday in the Park activities
anticipate production and budget problems and  help to identify
solutions
communicate activities of  production to other departments
assist with  hands-on work as required and where appropriate

The ideal candidate should have experience in both Production Manager
and Technical Theatre, and in particular experience with rigging and
flies (The Brockville Arts Centre is a fully equipped hemp-rigged  fly
theatre).

A vehicle would be a great asset.

The St. Lawrence Stage Company is a PACT member, and employs Equity
artists, as well as producing a Young Company production using local
non-professional students. Our Season consists of The Pirates of
Penzance, Dames at Sea, Sophie Tucker - Last of the Red Hot Mamas, and
Bunch O' Munsch.
