Great for actors, writers, directors:
Ongoing improv workshop opening up to NEW STUDENTS. Equity Members
"pay-what-can".
The workshop is for any skill level and begins this Thursday, Feb.7 at 6:30
pm. It
will run every Thursday from 6:30 - 9:15pm for the next 8 weeks at the
Hillcrest Community Centre,
1339 Bathurst, between Davenport and St.Clair.
Space is limited to 16 students.
This workshop is being offered by Rebecca Northan. Rebecca Northan is a
professional actor/ director who has been improvising for 13 years. She
received her ongoing improv training from Keith Johnstone ( improv guru,
creator of Theatresports and author of Impro & Impro For Storytellers) at
the Loose Moose Theatre in Calgary, Alberta. Rebecca can be seen improvising
on the Comedy Network in the Just for Laughs World Improv Games and is a two
time Canadian Comedy Award nominee for " Pretty Funny Female Improvisor."
Recently moved to Toronto, Rebecca is excited to share Johnstone's unique
approach to improvisation with the community.

The thrust of this workshop is the exploration of the craft of
improvisation. No experience is necessary, nor is there any pressure to "be
funny" or produce "comedy". The aim is to provide a safe environment is
which people can take risks, fail comfortably and acquire a set of skills in
improvisation that can be applied to any situation, comedic or
otherwise.
