Playwrights Union of Canada seeks an energetic Executive Director to
lead this national not-for-profit organization, of 350 professionally
produced playwrights, with vision and enthusiasm.

This dynamic person works with an elected board of 15 directors. Duties
and responsibilities include: developing and managing a budget, writing
grant applications, fundraising, advocacy and networking. The Executive
Director serves as a member of the negotiating team, and will develop
and implement a new RSP programme for members.  She or he must be free
to travel.

The applicant will have strong organization and management skills, and
is pro efficient in a MAC environment.

Preference will be given to applicants with knowledge and interest in
intellectual property, theatre culture, and who can demonstrate 3 - 5
years experience in the not-for profit sector at a comparable position.

Salary is $40,000 per annum with a competitive benefits package.  Start
date is April 1 2002.  Interviews will take place mid-February 2002.
