Searching for Hana: Exploration for the Vocally Inquisitive
with Kate Hennig
Hello everyone.
In December I ran a listing soliciting interest in vocal exploration which
I began while studying in England last year. The response was very
heartening.
I ran an initial two workshops in January. Here is a quote from one of the
participants:
"I just completed Kate Hennig's unique voice class...
This unforgettable workshop incorporates sound, movement and text as well as
influences from Japanese No Theatre, China and India. These ancient tools
for the actor are gifts which must be shared!
... After only one session, I feel armed with a handful of new warm-up
techniques and some very challenging mind/body/sound exercises." - Tracey
Hoyt (actor)
All of this work is intended to have practical application to both classical
and contemporary text.
I have booked further studio times and will be offering the following
classes (see the course outline below for further description of classes):
Feb. 10, Sunday from 11:30 am to 2 pm - Hana 1: Energy (Tarragon)
Feb. 17, Sunday from 11:30 am to 2 pm - Hana 1: Energy (The Space)
Feb. 18, Monday from 7 pm to 9:30 pm - Hana 2: Element (The Space)
Mar. 3, Sunday from 11:30 am to 2 pm - Hana 2: Element (Showcase)
Mar. 4, Monday from 11:30 am to 2 pm - Hana 3: Structure (Showcase)
Please note that you must take Hana 1 as an introduction to the work,
then you can drop in to the other classes in any order (you must book a
place through me).
The fee schedule is as follows:

On Feb 10 there will be a $1.00 surcharge per participant for studio fees.
On Feb 17 and 18 there will be a $2.00 surcharge per participant for studio
fees. Sorry about that.
If you have any further questions, please don't hesitate to be in touch.
