This class is designed for actors who have already played major roles on
television and film. It is taught at an advanced level and welcomes people
who have not studied with Mr. Rotenberg before as long as they have played
significant roles in the recent past. This class continues the use of Mr.
Rotenberg’s unique approaches of acting for the camera. Scene Study is the
base but some improvisation is part of the work. Auditors are welcome at a
fee of $10 per class. Auditors are not required to register with the
office.

Intensive Directing Workshop with Richard Rose #867
>From conceptualization to rehearsal, this course will be an
examination/exploration of a directing process – a how-to-go from your first
reading gut impression to moment by moment rehearsal with actors. Students
will look at the relationship between instinctual reactions, concept,
research, analysis, design, characterizations and the rehearsal process.
Central to this process is the principle of action – the tool through which
a director can tell stories, motivate actors, visualize designs and
actualize metaphors. This workshop is open to actors and directors alike.
March 26 - April 6, 2002, Tues, Wed, Thurs 10:30am-1:30pm Sat 10:00am-6:00pm
Cost: CAEA $340, Non-CAEA $375
Application with photo, résumé & payment by March 13th.
Beginners Technique and Scene Study with Kurt Reis #866
If you are just starting out as an actor, then this is the class for you.
It is specifically designed to help you to develop a way of working, from
scratch. You will participate in a series of basic techniques, which
involve elementary scene work. The questions to be dealt with include: How
and where do you start? What do you the actor need to know and when do you
need to know it? How do you rehearse? What are the differences between
rehearsal and performance? This is not an academic class. It is practical
in nature and method. It is not a class about talking about acting. This
is a class about doing. It will require preparation on your own or with a
partner between classes.
April 2 - April 25, 2002, Tuesdays and Thursdays 10:30 am - 1:30 pm
Cost: CAEA $230, Non-CAEA $255
Application with photo, résumé & payment by March 20th.
For any class inquiries please contact Jennifer by phone at 416-533-6100
ext. 21 or by e-mail at mail at equityshowcase.ca
