Sudbury Theatre Centre Auditions for the musical Cabaret
TORONTO AUDITION DATES: December 9-11 2002
Rehearsals start: April 6, 2003
Closing: May 18, 2003
The Sudbury Theatre Centre will be auditioning for
Singers/Actors/Dancers for their production of Cabaret.
STC's Artistic Director George Pothitos will direct the production.
Scott White is the Musical Director and the Choreographer will be Tracey
Flye.
If you play a musical instrument very well please let us know, it would
be an asset.
If you wish to be considered for an audition and/or a specific role
please send your resume and photograph expressing your interest. Please
indicate your vocal range and for those who play instruments be prepared
to do a brief demonstration of your abilities. STC is a PACT theatre and
operates under the CTA.
Please clearly state your Equity Status. STC is a category E House and
the minimum fees will apply to all Equity contracts. Equity members will
be given priority. Auditions are by invitation only. Please prepare one
short song, in the right key, from the standard musical theatre
repertoire. No pop music or contemporary musicals (i.e. RENT).
Candidates may be asked to perform a monologue or read from the text.
Due to the number of requests we receive, only those candidates who are
invited to audition will be contacted to set up an audition time. If you

THE DEADLINE FOR RECEIPT OF RESUMES IS FRIDAY NOVEMBER 15, 2002
Role breakdown: Candidates should be prepared to sing a character song,
in the right key, from the standard musical theatre repertoire showing
vocal range and character.
Emcee: A versatile tenor with a range from C up to high B flat. Prepare
a character song showing vocal range and character. Age: 30-40
Cliff: Warm baritone voice. Prepare a ballad from the standard musical
theatre repertoire. Age: Mid 20's to early 30's.
Ernst: Primarily an acting role with some singing. Possibility of
playing an instrument with the band when not in a scene. So, if you play
an instrument well, let us know! Age: early to late 30's.
F. Schneider: A low alto. Range from a low E up to a C. Candidate should
prepare a character song from the standard musical theatre repertoire.
Strong acting ability a must. Age: Late 40's to late 50's
F. Kost: A mid range alto. Possibility that this character will play an
instrument in the band. So, if you play an instrument, let us know!
Prepare a musical ballad from the standard musical theatre repertoire.
Age: Late 20's to mid 30's.
Herr Schultz: A warm tenor. Range from C to a G. Candidates should
prepare a ballad from the musical theatre repertoire. Age: Early to late
50's.
Sally: A low alto with a strong chest belt and strong head voice. Range
from a low E and up to a high A. Prepare a ballad showing range. Strong
acting ability and a good English accent required.
Kit Kat Girls: 2 Altos and 2 Sopranos. Altos mid range, but sopranos go
as high as a B flat. Strong belt required. Prepare one uptempo song from
standard musical theatre repertoire. Strong dance ability required.

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity
members
cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of
contract.
