PRODUCER     MAKING A SCENE - THEATRE CONFERENCE

The Greater Vancouver Professional Theatre Alliance is accepting
applications for the position of Producer of the Making a Scene
Conference, to be held March 6, 7, 8, 2003. 

The Producer reports to the Executive Committee of the Alliance. The
successful individual or organization will coordinate overall planning,
thematic development, implementation and day-to-day management of all
aspects of the Conference. These responsibilities include scheduling,
keynote speaker and session leader relations, sponsorship, marketing,
publicity and promotion, venue relations, registration, volunteer
coordination, hospitality, VIP services, and all other aspects of
organizing a first rate, successful conference. The Producer will
provide leadership for the conference and will work closely with the
GVPTA Administrator and the conference committees, made up of
individuals in the local professional theatre community.

The successful applicant will demonstrate: 

Proven leadership ability; 
A commitment to the fullest implementation of the theme of the
conference 
An ability to liaise effectively with theatre artists 
Superb written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills,
and organizational skills; 
Ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines; 
Excellent computer skills with above average knowledge of Microsoft
Word, Excel and Access, and good knowledge of internet practices; 
Knowledge of volunteer management practices; 
Financial management skills and experience; 
A well developed sense of humour. 
Conference organization experience would be a definite asset.

This position is open to both individuals and organizations. The
contract begins December 1, 2002 and ends April 11, 2003. The fee for
the contract is $6,000.00.
