Preface Theatre will host a cabaret fundraiser on Tuesday, November 12,
2002, with proceeds going towards our upcoming collaborative creation
workshop, THE LOST VILLAGES PROJECT, which will take place from November
18
to December 7. Preface Theatre is a charitable, not-for-profit, Toronto

based theatre company.

Preface Theatre's mandate is to bring together both experienced and
young artists to share traditions, skills, ideas and inspiration, in
order
to create a positive and creative theatrical process. Through this
union,
Preface Theatre strives towards a rooted cultural identity as Canadian
artists, and in the exploration of varied artistic forms, to produce
theatre
that is accessible to a broad spectrum of audiences.

THE LOST VILLAGES PROJECT is based on the myth and mystery surrounding
the
villages that were submerged during the flooding of the St. Lawrence
Seaway
in the 1950's. The workshop will be directed by Eric J. Rose, under
Consulting Director Paul Thompson, with Dramaturgy by Sandra Balcovske.
The
actors collaborating on the project are Janet Amos, John Blackwood,
Michael
Bradley, and Nicole St. Martin.

Please feel free to forward this email to your friends and family; we
would
love the support. Some of the performers at this fundraising cabaret
include singer/songwriter Kelly Taylor, comedian Robin Archer, poet Jay
Miller, and the Salty Squirrels comedy troupe. In addition to the
performance acts, there will be dancing, and of course, a bar...

When: Tuesday November 12, 2002. 8pm-1am
Where: The Reverb, Queen and Bathurst, 2nd Floor
Cost: $8 cover/$7 CAEA members and students

Thanks for your support, and we hope to see you there!
