JOB POSTING AD: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Arts Umbrella Vancouver, B.C.

Rarely does an opportunity arise to lead an organization with such a
reputation for innovation and for positively impacting the lives of
children. The upcoming retirement of the founding Executive Director of
Arts Umbrella, Canada's leading and most comprehensive arts institute
for young people, has created just such an opportunity. 

Serving youth ages 2 - 19 for more than 20 years, Arts Umbrella strives
to foster the creativity of young people by providing innovative and
quality visual and performing arts to inspire intellect, spirit, and
passion in youth.  Arts Umbrella is committed to inclusiveness and works
to ensure that arts education is accessible to all children, regardless
of their financial situation.

Arts Umbrella has both on-site and outreach programs. The outreach
program touches the lives of 17,000 inner-city children each year.  The
on-site program delivers over 230 weekly classes to over 20,000 children
ranging from general courses to pre-professional training in music,
theatre, dance, painting, sculpture, architecture, film, photography,
media, and more.  Located in the heart of Vancouver on beautiful
Granville Island, Arts Umbrella is widely regarded as an organization

Reporting to the Board, the Executive Director will bring a passion for
both youth and the value of an arts education, will fit in comfortably

bent, and bring a strength and depth of experience in managing a
significant staff and a strong fundraising foundation.
