Artistic Director for Sunshine Theatre Company

Sunshine Theatre Company currently in its twenty-fifth season is seeking
a new Artistic Director.  Sunshine Theatre is the premier professional
theatre company in the Okanagan Valley.  It is located in Kelowna, one
of British Columbia's fastest growing and most beautiful cities.  With a
budget approaching $350,000, Sunshine Theatre currently creates a winter
subscription season of three productions in the newly opened Rotary
Centre for the Arts as well as presenting a further series of touring
performances and producing the Annual Kelowna Comedy Festival. 

Reporting directly to the Board of Trustees of the Sunshine Theatre
Society, the Artistic Director oversees all operations of the theatre
company and is responsible for its artistic personnel.  Working with a
small full time and contract staff, the Artistic Director is responsible
for artistic direction, marketing and fundraising, audience development,
financial managemanet and community relations.  The successful candidate
will have experience managing a theatre company with experience in the
areas of producing, driecting and presenting theatre and special events.


The job requires energy, creativity, leadership, sensitivity, and a good
sense of humour.  As the central figure of one of Kelowna's key cultural
organizations, Sunshine Theatre's Artistic Director plays a leading role
in the city's rapidly expanding cultural community.

Salary range and starting date: negotiable
