SUMMER STAGE CAMP COORDINATOR
The St. Lawrence Stage Company is a professional summer theatre
dedicated to Musical Theatre located in Brockville, Ontario. For the
seventh summer, the S.L.S.C. will be running the St. Lawrence Stage Camp
for both beginner and advanced students. Children who participate in the
program experience the excitement of the theatrical process, develop
their confidence, stimulate their imagination and are encouraged to find
new ways to express themselves. The program is full day, Monday to
Friday, and is made up of three companies. The Young Company is for
children ages 7 - 9, the Junior Company is for children ages 10 - 12,
and the Senior Company is for children ages 13-18. Also, a two week
Musical Theatre Camp and a one week Dance Camp will be offered. This
year, the Musical Theatre Camp runs from July 7 - July 18. Dance Camp
runs July 21-25. The full Stage Camp program runs from July 28th to
August 22nd , 2003. Approximately 70 students are expected to register
for the 2003 Stage Camp. Half a day is devoted to the rehearsal and
production of two one-act plays, which will be presented to parents and
friends at the Brockville Arts Centre at the conclusion of camp. The
rest of the day is spent in classes where students train in
Improvisation, Voice, Mask, Music, Movement, Stage Combat, Stagecraft
and Make-up.
The successful candidate for the position of Stage Camp Coordinator will
have an extensive background in teaching drama to young children and
teenagers, and must be able to create programs for all age groups. The
Stage Camp Coordinator will also be responsible for supervising up to
five other Stage Camp Counsellors/Instructors. As well, the Stage Camp
Coordinator will be responsible for providing material for and
coordinating the production of two one-act plays The position of Stage
Camp Coordinator is a nine-week contract commencing June 30, 2003 and
ending August 29, 2003.Salary is commensurate with experience.

SUMMER STAGE CAMP COUNSELLORS/INSTRUCTORS
Summer Stage Camp Counsellors/Instructors will be responsible for
teaching and supervising groups of young children and teenagers, in a
Stage Camp Program that runs for full days, from Monday to Friday,
beginning July 28th, 2003 until August 22nd, 2003. Successful candidates
will have a post-secondary school background in theatre arts,
specifically acting, and have experience teaching drama to young people
ages 7 to 18 yrs. Qualifications may include, but are not limited to:
Acting, Dance, Voice, Music, Stage Combat, Mime, Mask, Improvisation,
etc. Up to five Stage Camp Counsellors/Instructors will be hired for a
four-week contract commencing July 29, 2002 and ending August 23, 2002.
(There may be a one week pre-camp part-time commitment as well) Salary
is commensurate with experience.
