 EQUIFLASH: VANCOUVER CTA INFORMATION MEETING

UNDERSTANDING THE NEW CTA

An informational meeting for members eligible to vote in the CTA
ratification is being held in Vancouver tomorrow.

Thursday, August 7, 2003 at 2:00 p.m.
Upper Lobby, Arts Club Theatre
Granville Island
 
In response to requests from members who have questions about the new
terms of the Canadian Theatre Agreement, now out for ratification, an
information session is being held in Vancouver to address questions and
concerns prior to the deadline for mailing back the ballots on August
11, 2003.
 
All members eligible to vote on the new terms of the CTA are encouraged
to attend the meeting.  Members of the negotiations committee including
Equity Treasurer Henry Gauthier, and staff members Susan Wallace, Ken
Burns and Ian Ross McDonald will be on hand to discuss the new fee
structure as well as any other items of interest.  Copies of the
informational materials will be available and members can bring their
ballots and envelope to cast in person if they wish.
 
Please contact either Susan Wallace or Ken Burns in the National Office,
or Ian McDonald in the Western Office if you have questions but cannot
attend the meeting.
 
The proposed new terms are recommended unanimously by the negotiations
committee and our National Council.  If ratified, the new agreement will
be effective September 1, 2003 and will be for a three year term.
