Canadian Actors' Equity is the professional association of performers,
directors, choreographers and stage managers in Canada who are engaged
in live performance in theatre, opera and dance.

The national office in Toronto is seeking a

DANCE - BUSINESS REPRESENTATIVE
(MATERNITY LEAVE - ONE YEAR)

Position is responsible for the administration of the Association's
collective agreements and policies primarily in the dance sector.  The
Business Rep works on behalf of the members to ensure that the terms and
conditions of the agreements are upheld by the producers.  Negotiations,
problem solving and mediation skills are important components of the
job.  Some travel may be required.

You must have a minimum of three years artistic or administrative
experience in professional dance, preferably including some work
experience with a major ballet company.  You must be organized and
extremely detail-oriented.  Good communications skills and experience
with Microsoft Office essential.  Previous labour negotiations
experience and bilingualism are assets.  In this small but very active
office, you must be able to work independently and think clearly with
several things on the go.

This is a temporary full time position for an anticipated one year term
with a starting salary of $46K.
