1-Actor's Masterclass with László Marton
Dates: Monday, July 21st to Saturday, August 9th, 2003
Times: Mondays to Saturdays 10:00am to 6:00pm
Deadline for Application Submission: July 8th, 2003
Acclaimed Hungarian director László Marton will lead a three-week actor intensive workshop on Ibsen's The Wild Duck. Major scenes from the play will be explored in depth.
Training staff Mark Christmann, Kelly McEvenue, and Diane Pitblado will run classes in movement, Alexander Technique and voice respectively.
This workshop includes a pass to Soulpepper's entire summer season.
No more than 15 participants will be admitted to this workshop.
Fee: $1,200 Non-Equity, $960 Equity

László Marton has been the artistic director of the Vigszinhaz Theatre in Budapest since 1979. Internationally acclaimed, Mr. Marton has directed and taught at the Guildhall School in London, as well as in the United States, Germany, Finland and Israel. He is renowned in Toronto for having not one but two Best Production of the Year Dora Award winning productions, both of them Chekhov plays: Three Sisters in 1991 and Soulpepper's Platonov in 2000. He also won the Best Director of the Year Dora Award for Platonov in 1999. Most recently Mr. Marton directed Chekhov's Uncle Vanya also for Soulpepper.
Mark Christmann is Soulpepper's Head of Movement. He is a graduate of L'Ecole J. Lecoq in Paris, and has performed and choreographed extensively across Canada and internationally.
Kelly McEvenue is a renowned teacher of the Alexander technique. She has taught at theatres and in schools across the country. She is the Movement Coordinator for the Stratford Festival.
Diane Pitblado is the Head of Voice for Soulpepper, Ms. Pitblado has an M.F.A. in voice and performance from York University and has coached such illustrious performers as Anne Bancroft, Marisa Tomei & Aidan Quinn.
