 EQUIFLASH: CANADIAN THEATRE AGREEMENT EXTENDED

The current CTA which is set to expire on June 29th, 2003 has been
extended to August 31, 2003 by agreement between CAEA and PACT in order
to facilitate the ratification of proposed changes by the membership
after the successful conclusions of negotiations. If successfully
ratified, the new agreement will come into effect on September 1, 2003
and will end June 25, 2006.

Ratification packages are being prepared to be sent to the membership
during the next month. All members of CAEA in good standing who have
worked under a CTA or ITA engagement contract will be sent a ballot and
must return it by the date indicated in the package.

If you are away from your residence during the summer, please make sure
you get your package forwarded to you in time to vote. Ballots
postmarked later than August 8, 2003 will not be counted. If you have
moved recently, please make sure we have your correct address.

Look for details of the recommended changes to the CTA in the upcoming
summer issue of Equity News, as well as on the Equity website. A
comprehensive ratification package, including all changes to the
agreement and explanatory notes will be sent to each member eligible to
vote.
