YELLOW ON THURSDAYS PRODUCTION CELEBRATES WORLD THEATRE DAY
At Performance Works, Granville, Thurday March 27th, 8pm
It?s a play and a party! Come one! Come All! Read all of this
Equity Members get in for the Origins Members rate of 10 Dollars. Plus any
number of guests a member brings will get in for 15 dollars per guest.
The company from Origins Theatre Projects coming of age comedy Yellow On
Thursdays invites everyone in the community to join us to celebrate World
Theatre Day Thursday March 27th 8pm. Yellow On Thursdays is written by the
award winning playwright Sara Graefe, and directed by Origins Theatre
Projects Artistic Director Donnard MacKenzie.
One dollar from every ticket sold for this performance will be donated to
Peforming Arts Lodge. PAL is rasing funds to build housing for retired
cultural workers. Have a good time right now, and help people later.
WORLD THEATRE DAY OPEN MIC AFTER SHOW PARTY
The event will begin with the World Theatre Day Message read by acclaimed
senior artist in Vancouver JOY COGHILL Then see the sexy Yellow on
Thursdays. After the show stay to party with some danceable tunes, and
daring acts. Or take the stage yourself if you like. Its an openstage.
THE PLAY: Remember your first crush; falling in love for the first time?
Yellow on Thursdays is a coming-of-age story about the wonders of friendship
and sexual awakening. Rebecca and Katie are best friends. After one summer
apart ?all the rules have changed.? Rebecca is obsessed with boys and sex.
Enter the hot new guy Mike who has his own secret to hide. Meanwhile, Katie
is discovering, to her surprise, a completely different attraction. See
Yellow On Thursdays where everyday life is an event, and the French teachers
are gorgeous.
THE CAST: Yellow on Thursdays features a cast of 3 top-notch young
professionals. Fresh from the Vancouver Playhouse in the acclaimed Mary?s
Wedding is Nicole Leroux playing Katie. Rebecca will be played by Marjorie
Malpass, who just returned from a world tour of the Number 14, and Adam Joe,
who?s worked his way west at many of Canada?s top companies will play Mike.
