Chronic Stress and Injury
As an artist, what strategies and resources are available when you are
suffering from ongoing physical and psychological stresses? At this
seminar, presented by the Artists' Health Centre, specialists in
artists' health care issues will lead discussions on how to deal with
ongoing mental health, physical, and chemical toxicity issues. They
will cover both professional and self-help options for artists of all
disciplines, including alternative as well as conventional therapies.
This is the third in a series of seminars presented by the AHC as part
of an ongoing education/outreach programme to the artists' community.
Speakers include:
1. Gabriella Herr -Nurse practitioner, Al & Malka Green Artists
Health Centre
2. Penny Fleming - MCPA; Physiotherapy consultant, National Ballet
of Canada and National Ballet School; Partner, Oakville Centre for Sport
and Dance Medicine
3. Paula Ravitz M.D.- Head, Interpersonal Psychotherapy Clinic;
Staff, Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, Mt. Sinai
Hospital, former dancer
4. Ted Rickard - Manager of Health & Safety, Ontario College of
Art & Design; Editor, Education Safety Association of
Ontario.
5. Michael Du Maresq, Choreographer/Dancer/Filmmaker, will be the
Facilitator.

The seminar will take place from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Sunday, November
23rd, at the Artists' Health Centre, located in the Toronto Western
Hospital (399 Bathurst Street at Dundas).
Fee for the Seminar is $25 ($30 at the door), $15 for students and
seniors. 20% discount for Equity Members
