Supervisor - Performing Arts & Audience Development
Grand Theatre General Manager
Full-time
You will be responsible for the nurturing and facilitation of the
performing arts and cultural audiences through both the direct
management of the Grand Theatre and provide oversight of the Division's
marketing/audience development plans. Responsibilities include the
General Management of the Grand Theatre including all of its activities
i.e. capital restoration, general operations, marketing, programming,
rentals, personnel, customer service and external partnerships. You
will be involved in an exciting development of a $6.5M capital
restoration for the Grand and oversee it's capital and operating future.
The successful candidate will have:
* A university degree or college diploma in fine or performing
arts, arts administration or other cultural disciplines and 5 years
experience in managing the operation, programming and administration in
a performing arts centre.
* If a degree is not completed then documented specialty training
in an accredited theatre production program i.e.: stage management,
administration and production is required plus 8 years experience in
managing the administration or operation of a performing arts venue,
events, festivals or large public performances.
* Experience in fundraising, non-profits and capital projects
considered an asset.
* Proven success in marketing and audience development including
proven abilities in media relations, partnerships, promotions,
sponsorship and publicity.
* Experience in municipal government is an asset.
* Computer literacy and keyboarding skills with competency in
Microsoft Office
* Working knowledge of administrative financial systems and
policies will be considered a significant asset.
