Talk Is Free Theatre in Barrie is accepting resumes for COLETTE: THE
COLOURS OF LOVE. Book by Christopher Covert with Music and Lyrics by
Barbara Spence Potter. Directed by Anne Wootten.
COLETTE: THE COLOURS OF LOVE portrays the life of the French writer and
feminist, based on a series of entries in her diary.
Roles:
1. Colette - actress [in her thirties] with alto range [low F to E].
Must be able to play Colette as a young girl and an older woman. The
role requires the actress to briefly expose a breast during a pivotal
moment in Colette's life.
2. Willy/Brague/Henri/Michel/Maurice - versatile actor with high
baritone range [low G to high G] who plays all the men [various ages] in
Colette's life.
3. Coquette/Jadin/Francoise/Alice/Young Colette - actress in her
twenties who plays the other women in Colette's life. Soprano range [low
A to high B].
Availability
Rehearsals begin on February 21 and the show runs in Barrie from March
17-27, 2005, with a possibility of a one-week extension.
Auditions will be held in Toronto in late September.
