Toronto Arts Coalition Speaks Up! 

Join the Coalition, an Internet-based group of arts supporters dedicated
to raising arts awareness and increasing resources available to artists
and arts organizations.   Your voice is important.  

Receive and read the Coalition newsletter which offers timely news on
policies, programming, awareness and calls to action.

In 2003, Toronto Arts Coalition produced the Great Toronto Arts Debate
that some say marked the turning point for David Miller in his campaign
for mayor.  Earlier in the year, Coalition members filled Toronto's
Council Chamber in support of Toronto Arts Council's (TAC) budget
submission.  For the first time since amalgamation, the City granted
artists, funded through TAC, an increase $200,000 (the request was for
$1 million).  This year TAC is again requesting an additional $1
million.  You can help!  Join today!     

We're all Affected! 

Toronto's arts creators and managers are extraordinarily capable, yet
chronic revenue shortages force them well below their potential to
dazzle.  Much of the arts community in Toronto functions in continuous
crises mode, which is concealed largely by ingenuity and self-sacrifice.
This affects all of Canada's artists who work in and contribute to this
vibrant sector.

Great Arts/Great City 

Toronto Arts Coalition is a program of Toronto Arts Council Foundation
(TACF), a key component of its Great Arts/Great City initiative which
aims to raise awareness of the value of Toronto Arts and generate an
additional $45 million annually in art sector revenues.
