EQUIFLASH-TAKE ACTION FOR THE TORONTO THEATRE ALLIANCE

The Board of Directors of the Toronto Theatre Alliance convened a
Special Meeting on Monday, January 19, 2004 and decided to announce,
with great regret, that due to recent financial challenges, the TTA, and
its T.O. TIX booth located at Yonge-Dundas Square, are at risk of
closing.

TAKE ACTION FOR THE TTA
----------------------------------
Here are THREE THINGS that member companies, friends and constituents
can do that will help T.O. TIX and the Toronto Theatre Alliance.

1. The TTA is launching the T.O. TIX Awareness Campaign. Please make
sure your company is providing tickets for sale at the T.O. TIX booth,
for current and upcoming shows. Even a pair of tickets daily can make a
huge difference. Please contact Michael Wiley, T.O. TIX Manager, at
totix at bellnet.ca for further information and to make these arrangements.

2. Write a letter of support outlining how the TTA has helped you in the
past and how it continues to serve your organization and the theatre
community, whether it be the T.O.TIX booth, the Dora Mavor Moore Awards,
and/or the many other services the TTA provides. Email it to Jacoba
Knaapen at the TTA office (execdir at look.ca) and copy it to the funding
agencies, and to community members and stakeholders in the Toronto
theatre community.

3. Help get information about T.O. TIX out to the theatre-going (and
potential theatre-going) public. A significant increase in sales at T.O.
TIX will have an immediate and positive effect on the TTA and your own
organization. Here are some easy ways to help us increase the profile of
the T.O. TIX booth:

- On Monday, January 26, TTA will be distributing T.O. TIX posters.
Please display these in a prominent location within your theatre or
public space.

- Put an ad in your program that promotes the booth (contact Melissa
Mohaupt at ttacom at look.ca for artwork)

- Send an email to your personal and professional contacts, and tell
them about the ticket booth.
