1. VIEWPOINTS TRAINING WORKSHOP - VANCOUVER

A few spots have opened up for the July 23rd and 24th Viewpoints
training workshop. 
The workshop will run from 5:00 to 8:00 on Friday the 23rd and 10:00 to
1:00 on Saturday the 24th.  The cost is $100 or $80 for equity members.

Viewpoints Training provides actors with a clear,
practical way of practicing listening skills and the
art of being fully present and in the moment. It also
helps actors work spontaneously and intuitively and
develops a more articulate and responsive body.

It's a wonderful tool for directors, designers and
playwrights as well. Viewpoints Training provides
artists with a vocabulary to understand and speak to
the physical event of theatre.  Viewpoints training
helps theatre artists create dynamic, bold theatrical
works in a very short period of time and is a great
foundation for true ensemble work.

KJ Sanchez is a director and actor, living and working
in New York City. Her collaboratively created play,
Panophobia, recently premiered at the University of Washington's
Playhouse Theatre. KJ is a NEA/TCG, Drama League and Fox Foundation
fellow. For many years KJ was a member of Anne Bogart's SITI Company,
teaching Viewpoints and performing throughout the US and
internationally.

2. THE ACTOR'S RETREAT - TORONTO/HALIBURTON

THE ACTOR'S RETREAT 
(THE PLAYWRIGHT'S RETREAT) 

The Actor's Retreat is a newly established, all-inclusive 5 day training
retreat. It is an exciting new opportunity in Ontario that hosts
instructors such as Judith Thompson, David Smukler, Paul Lampert, David
Ferry, Chris Bauer, Rae Ellen Bodie and more. 

The Retreat has been established to create an intense, affordable,
all-inclusive training opportunity for performers and playwrights with
previous and professional experience. Away from the distractions of
everyday life and nestled in a camp in northern Ontario, the retreat
includes transportation from/to Toronto, food, lodging in cabins and
most materials. 

NEW: Recently added is a new participant-limited Playwrights retreat
with Judith Thompson. 

Both retreats feature a supplementary Mentoring program designed to
assist eligible applicants wishing to mentor instructors (discount on
tuition.) 

Application Deadline is August 1st 2004 (ltd. avail) 

Retreats run Sun. Aug. 29th to Sept. 2nd 2004, departing from Toronto,
ON. 

Fee: $479,00 all-inclusive for equity members ($599.00 for non-equity)
