POSITION TITLE: PROPERTY AND SCENIC ARTIST
CLASSIFICATION: Technician 'III'
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible for pulling, re-modeling and/or creating
the finished properties and furniture for University Players and other
School of Dramatic Art productions, as assigned by the Director of the
School of Dramatic Art; painting and finishing condition of the scenic
units for those productions; the supervision and maintenance of the
paint shop.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
An undergraduate degree in theatre with a specialization in
design/technical theatre; or equivalent professional experience. A
demonstrated proficiency in scene painting and properties construction.
The successful candidate will demonstrate time management and
organizational skills as well as an ability to operate effectively and
pro-actively within a small team; and a proven ability to work
efficiently and meet deadlines with a busy schedule.
Applicants are asked to submit a portfolio which includes samples of
scene painting and props construction.
