JOB - PRODUCTION ASSISTANT - ORANGEVILLE

THEATRE ORANGEVILLE
Production Assistant

This is a paid contract position for the period September 7, 2004 to
December 23, 2004, with the possibility of extension.

Function
To assist with sound, lighting and technical requirements of Theatre
productions for the period stated above. Reporting to Technical Director
(TD).

Responsibilities
To be responsible to the TD in all areas of work

*	Running sound and lights for Theatre mainstage productions,
youth
productions and user groups to the Opera House as required
*	Reporting larger repairs to TD and making smaller repairs as
required
during the run of shows
*	Loading in and striking the sets
*	Assisting Technical Director in areas of carpentry, props and
paint as
needed
*	Hang and focus lights, set up sound system under the direction
of TD and
respective Designers
*	Set up for Opera House user groups
*	Maintenance and care of sound and lighting equipment
*	General shop and Theatre maintenance
*	Demonstrate a courteous and responsible work ethic in dealing
with Theatre
staff, user groups and patrons
*	Abide by all safety regulations established by the Theatre
*	Good time management skills

The successful candidate must be able to problem solve in new and
changing situations.  An ability to work independently and in a team
environment plus demonstrate leadership skills are considered assets to
this position.
