The Education and Outreach Department of the Canadian Opera Company
currently has an opening for the position of Community outreach
co-ordinator.

Working closely with young people in a community arts setting, the
Community Outreach Co-ordinator will be responsible for the
co-ordination and administration of all community outreach programmes
(see www.coc.ca/education for more full  details).  They will assist in
developing and implementing new programmes, prepare written resources,
sustain community partnerships and work to further engage community
members and other non-traditional audiences.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications: A
post-secondary education, experience in teaching/arts education, a
background in music (instrumental or vocal) or dramatic arts and strong
verbal and written communication skills.  Experience of work in the
community arts field and some knowledge of opera would be assets.  This
is a full time position, reporting to the Education and Outreach
Consultant and working closely with the Education and Outreach
Co-ordinator. Some evening and weekend work will be required.

The COC is one of Canada's largest arts organizations and one of the
largest producers of opera in North America. Attendance is high,
artistic excellence is critically acclaimed and a new opera house for
Toronto is well underway. All of these factors contribute to a dynamic
and challenging environment.
