AUDITION - VANCOUVER
---------------------------------
for Equity actors
Book-It Repertory Theatre (Seattle, WA) seeks First Nations actors for a
reading of
Sherman Alexie's Reservation Blues,
adapted by Myra Platt and directed by Jane Jones
Roles Available
Lester FallsApart: 40s-50s. Lives on the periphery - almost a
transient. A quirky, offbeat personality; friend to the underdog. Beaten
down but resilient.
Victor Joseph: Early 30s. Bully. Angry at the world. Antagonistic. Not
too smart. Plays lead guitar in Coyote Springs (though actor does not
actually have to play).
Junior Polatkin: Late 20s-30s. Victor's sidekick. Good looking. A
little susceptible to suggestion - easily influenced by Victor - but
also keeps Victor on a straighter path. Plays drums in Coyote Springs
(though actor does not actually have to play).
Big Mom: 50s-60s+. Part Grandmother. Part Goddess. A healer and
spiritual guide. Has immense strength of character and conviction.
Checkers Warm Water: Late 20s. Stunningly beautiful. Tough - doesn't
suffer fools gladly. Devoted to her sister. A little lost. A good
singer.
Auditions will be held on Friday July 2nd, 9:30am-11:30am at the
Firehall Arts Centre, Vancouver, BC
Reading is scheduled for July 25th and 26th, 2004 in Seattle
Actors should be
