WHAT:
The Keep Ontario Cameras Rolling Coalition has organized a rally to
address the failure of the Ontario government to keep Ontario
competitive in film and television production, as jurisdictions across
North America introduce increasingly progressive tax incentives.
The coalition invites people to the rally to support its main objective:
to hold the government to its promise to increase tax credits for the
film and television industry.
WHEN:
1 December 2004, 10:00 a.m.
Events will start at 10:15 a.m., MC'd by Luba Goy (Actor) and Wayne
Robson (Actor), with speeches from Don Carmody (Oscar winning Producer,
Chicago), Brian Topp (ACTRA Toronto Performers), Ken Girotti (Director,
DGC O), Debra Osborne (Post Productions Supervisor/Film School
Instructor), Paul Kenyon (Owner and Operator of @bsolute Location
Support Services) and Shirley Douglas (Actor/Activist).
WHO:
Keep Ontario Cameras Rolling Coalition is comprised of labour
organizations, equipment suppliers, small and large business owners and
employees who are dependent on the continued health of the Ontario film
and television industry. Its members are: @bsolute Location Support
Services, ACTRA Toronto Performers, Directors Guild of Canada-Ontario,
IATSE Locals 411, 667 and 873, M7Media and NABET 700.
