FRINGE FESTIVAL 2005, July 6 - 17

The Sweat Company is holding auditions for  THE DISPUTE; written by
Baroque playwright Marivaux, and directed by Kate Lynch.

The cast includes  Geoffrey Pounsett, Robin Schisler, Brendan Murray and
Carly Street among others.

Premise:
What if four children had been raised in complete isolation - kept from
each other and the world?  What if tonight, twenty years later, they
were permitted into the garden?  How would bodies and minds respond to
the first glimpse, the first kiss, the first lie?  What if you got to
watch?  A joyous, cruel and erotic comedy.

Auditions are for the following roles:

- CARISE - female, 30+, powerful physical and vocal presence, this
character is of African-Canadian, Caribbean or Indian descent
- MESROU - male, 30+, strong movement skills, this character is also of
African-Canadian, Caribbean or Indian descent

CARISE and MESROU are brother and sister.  They are the jailers,
care-givers and teachers of four Caucasian children.  Their involvement
in this shocking experiment is not just social, but political and deeply
personal.
 
Auditions will take place May 7th and 8th.  Rehearses in June.
