THE LAST DAYS OF JUDAS ISCARIOT

Cool and edgy, set in a time-bending, darkly comic modern world between
Heaven and Hell, The Last Days of Judas Iscariot re-examines the plight
and fate of The New Testament's most infamous and unexplained sinner.
Following the successful world premiere at The Public Theatre in New
York City, BirdLand Theatre is presenting  Canadian premiere at The
Fermenting Cellar in The Historic Distillery District.
We are looking for the following 12 actors:
1. Gloria/Mother Theresa/: Female. All ethnicities, ages. Must have
great edge and comic timing. Need ability to speak street jive NYC style
2. Judge/Caiaphas the Elder/St. Matthew: -Looking for male character
actor. Character is described as age 6oish, real caustic edge (hanging
judge type) contrasting with regal bearing dignity.
3. Bailiff/Simon Zealot: male age 40-60. Comic turn skills. Character is
described as Mr. Big and Tall type.
4. Pontius Pilate/Uncle Pino: Italian or Hispanic Character described as
a fit and male, 55-65. 
5. Matthias of Galilee/Delayne/St.Peter/Soldier 2/Ensemble: Character is
described 35-55 years old.
6. Jesus of Nazareth. Character is described as 33, possibly Middle
Eastern but other suggestions are appreciated.
7. Judas Iscariot: Male, Caucasian. 28-40. Character is described  as
someone with an ability to seem like a no account drifter.
8. Saint Monica: Female. African American Character -  twenty something.
9. Henrietta Iscariot/Sister Glenna: Female. Character is described as
"buxom" 50ish. 
10. Butch Honeywell: Character is described as a sort of all American
boy with a bit of wear and tear. Once played the gentleman caller.
25-30.
11.Fabiana Aziza Cunningham: Character is described as an ambitious
defence attorney, a bit proper, a bit politically correct. Caucasian.
28-38.
12. Yusef El-Fayoumy: Character is described as male with comic edge.
30-40.
This is one week run at the Fermenting Cellar at the Distillery District
November 16-20, 2005 to be followed by the four week run in the fall
2006. Actors will be engaged under five week contract. Rehearsal dates
October 17, 2005 to November 15, 2005. BirdLand is a member of PACT and
engages under CTA members of CAEA.
