Just in time for Christmas, James Brewer (Artistic Director of The
Mayfield Dinner Theatre) presents a theatrical journey with one of the
great novelist of all time, Charles Dickens. From portraying the man
himself and many of his most famous characters, Mr. Brewer gives us a
wonderful glimpse into the heart of this illustrious artist and his
fabulous creations all in one theatrical event.
Charles Dickens was a novelist but he was also an actor, entertainer,
promoter, journalist, editor, dedicated reformer and a superstar of his
age. He was the first great writer to confront the social problems of
his times by brilliantly uniting the action and characters in his novels
to the deep social concerns that he felt.
To honour that legacy all after expense revenue from this production
will be donated to the Change for Children Society and The Actors Fund
of Canada.
An Evening With Charles Dickens plays at The Varscona Theatre (10329 83
Avenue, Edmonton) December 7th - 18th.
Evening performances start at 7.30 p.m. and there are only 2 p.m.
