OLIVER!, based on the 1838 Charles Dickens classic OLIVER TWIST, tells
the story of the orphan, Oliver, set against the seamy underside of the
Victorian London criminal world. 

SEEKING CHILDREN FOR THE FOLLOWING ROLES:

OLIVER TWIST: Male; 8 - 11 years old. Orphaned and destined to fend for
himself in an 1830's circa London workhouse, he is both an innocent and
a survivor.  He eventually escapes and joins Fagin's band of pickpockets
before being reunited with surviving members of his family. He should be
small for his age, a good actor and singer and have some movement
ability. VOCAL REQUIREMENT: BOY SOPRANO. All ethnicities.

ARTFUL DODGER: Male; 10-12 years old. Street-wise and mature beyond his
years, he has learned to survive in a world of misfits. The most
successful and interesting of Fagin's thieves, he takes the innocent
Oliver under his wing and shows him the ropes of the pickpocket game. He
is confident, manipulative and wonderfully charismatic.  He should be a
good actor and have some movement and singing ability (he sings
"Consider Yourself"). All ethnicities.

FAGIN'S BOYS: Male, 10-13 years old. May understudy Oliver and/or Artful
Dodger. These are the rest of the boys who make up Fagin's band of
pickpockets. Should have some singing and movement ability. Gymnastic
skills an asset but not a requirement.  All types and ethnicities.
 
Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity
members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of
contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the
audition.
