Crowns
Written by Regina Taylor, Adapted from the book by Michael Cunningham
and Craig Marberry Directed and Choreographed by Marion J. Caffey
Co-production with Manitoba Theatre Centre and The National Arts Centre
		
In Winnipeg:  Rehearsals begin Sept 19, 2005; opens - Oct 10, 2005 at
the Manitoba Theatre Centre; closes - Nov 6, 2005;  In Toronto:
Rehearsals begin Nov 10, 2005; opens - Nov 17, 2005; closes - Dec 10,
2005; possible two week extension to Dec 24, 2005.  In Ottawa:
Rehearsals begin Feb 20, 2006; opens - Mar 2, 2006; closes - Mar 18,
2006.  

Audition dates March 11-21.

Characters are six African American women and one African American man,
of various ages.  Must be very strong actors who move well, and have an
excellent musical range that includes Gospel.

If you are selected for an audition, please prepare 1 gospel song, 1
song which shows off your strengths and 1 contemporary monologue.  Those
seen for the role of Yolanda, the young girl, must also prepare a rap or
spoken word piece.

resumes from artists of diverse cultures and ethnicities.  Please
indicate submission is for Crowns.  

Equity members will be seen first at all open audition calls. Equity
members cast in this production will be engaged under an Equity form of
contract. CAEA members: please bring your membership card to the
audition.
