JOBS - APPRENTICE STAGE MANAGERS - TORONTO

Tarragon Theatre is now accepting applications for two Apprentice Stage
Managers for it's 2005-2006 season. 

Each season, Tarragon Theatre engages two Apprentice Stage Managers for
the five Mainspace productions.  
Candidates who fill these positions have a strong interest in becoming
stage managers as members of Canadian 
Actors' Equity Association.  A certain number of credits in
apprenticeship are required to join the Association 
and they must be obtained through Equity accredited productions.

Tarragon Theatre provides the opportunity to accumulate credits in a
productive working environment and
an even better learning environment.  The apprenticeship program is
designed to give individuals an opportunity 
to further their stage management skills while working diligently
towards the fulfillment of a full-scale production.

Both Apprenticeships are paid positions, successful applicants will earn
either 2 or 3 credits towards their Equity membership.

The requirements for this apprenticeship include:

University or college courses in technical theatre and stage management
and preferably a degree or diploma from a Theatre Program.

Stage management experience from either a post secondary institution or
a professional or non-professional theatre company.

A keen interest in the stage management field and a strong understanding
of the necessary skills required for the position.

The ability to work well in a creative environment and as a member of a
team.

The ability to learn from their mentors and apply that knowledge on
current and subsequent productions.

While Tarragon Theatre welcomes all applicants, only those chosen for an
