One-Year Limited-Term Position in Acting

The University of Windsor invites applications for a one-year
limited-term faculty position in the School of Dramatic Art in the area
of Acting at the rank of Assistant Professor commencing as early as July
1, 2005. This position is subject to final budgetary approval.

The School of Dramatic Art at the University of Windsor is one of the
oldest and best established theatre and drama programs in the country.
Our graduates have made a mark on both the world stage and in film, and
in education. Currently the School of Dramatic Art offers honours degree
programs in Acting, Drama in Education and Community, and Dramatic Art,
and a wide ranging subscription season of plays through University
Players that serve the community. Plans are under way to institute a

The City of Windsor has a vital and expanding cultural community and we
are within easy driving distance to Stratford, Toronto, Detroit, and

The incumbent's responsibilities will include the teaching of courses
such as Acting, Developmental Improvisation and/or other areas of the
candidate's expertise. The minimum qualifications are an MA or MFA with
significant theatre experience, or in exceptional cases demonstrated
professional experience in acting and/or directing. University teaching
experience is essential.

statement of citizenship/immigration status, a detailed curriculum
vitae, a teaching dossier or evidence of teaching effectiveness that
might include sample course outlines, teaching evaluations and a
statement of teaching philosophy and interests, sample(s) of
creative/scholarly activity, and three current letters of reference
forwarded by the referees.
