JOBS - THEATRE NEW BRUNSWICK
--------------------------------------------
New Brunswick's premiere English-language professional theatre company,
Theatre New Brunswick (TNB), is pleased to invite applications for two
leadership positions:
Artistic Director and Managing Director.
Since 1968, TNB has been producing and touring professional theatre for
diverse audiences of all ages. Its role is to foster the development of
the region's artists in the interpretation and realization of theatrical
works including works from the Canadian repertoire. TNB tours each of
its four mainstage productions to nine different centres throughout the
province from October to May. Its Young Company produces three
productions which tour throughout the province from January to May.
TNB's popular theatre school, based in Fredericton, has programmes
available year-round. TNB is a charitable, not-for-profit company with
an operating budget in excess of $1,200,000.
The Artistic Director and Managing Director share the leadership of the
company and both report to the Board of Governors. The Artistic
Director is responsible for enhancing the company's mission with an
artistic vision that inspires renewal. The Managing Director is
responsible for overseeing the administration of the company. Working
together, they are both responsible for long-term planning and
communications, and for ensuring that all programming meets strategic
and operational objectives.
The Artistic Director also has responsibilities for artistic contracts,
audience development, community relations, advocacy, grant preparation,
fund raising and touring. The Managing Director also has
responsibilities for audience services, industry relations, income
management, sponsorship development, cost control, administrative staff
and facility operations.
The Artistic Director position requires leadership experience in the
development and selection of programming for New Brunswick audiences;
the Managing Director position requires leadership experience in the
management of Canadian theatres.
The board is looking for a team with vision, energy and commitment.
Applications will be considered jointly and separately. The ideal
candidates will be a highly motivated and respected artist and manager
