ADVOCACY ALERT - ACTION NEEDED
EMAIL CAMPAIGN TO SUPPORT FUNDING FOR THE ARTS
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This email is a CALL TO ACTION for Equity Members.
Tomorrow Starts Today (TST), the most important investment by the Government of Canada in the arts and culture ever, was renewed in the 2005 Federal Budget for five years, with a total of $860 million in new funding. If the Budget is not passed in the House of Commons, TST funding is in jeopardy. Even the one year extension of TST announced in December is at risk.
Five years of stable funding is essential for arts organizations to survive and thrive.
Equity members are encouraged to let federal politicians in Ottawa know how important TST is to Canada's cultural community. Send an email or a fax today to all party leaders and Heritage critics letting them know that you are counting on them to support the 2005 Federal Budget, specifically the five year funding of Tomorrow Starts Today.
