EQUIFLASH - JUNE 10th DEADLINE FOR ONTARIO STATUS OF THE ARTIST SURVEY

Ontario members are urged to participate in the Minister's Advisory
Council for Arts and Culture's survey on the status of the artist in
Ontario. Don't delay; register your perspective today at
http://www.macac.on.ca/.

Respondents interested in participating in future feedback opportunities
with the Advisory Council for Arts, must complete the survey by June 10,
2005. The survey will remain online for general completion until July 8,
2005.

Survey results will be used by the Status of the Artist Sub-Committee to
identify areas of primary importance to arts and cultural communities in
Ontario and inform future discussions on enhancement of the social and
economic conditions of artists.

Additional comments are requested at the end of each survey section.
Equity has long supported the need for mandatory collective bargaining
rights as a primary objective of Status of the Artist legislation. The
comment boxes provide an excellent opportunity for individual members to
register support for these rights as well.
