JOB - GENERAL MANAGER AND PRODUCER - TORONTO

Nightwood Theatre is seeking a dynamic individual for the position of
General Manager & Producer. 

In partnership with Artistic Director Kelly Thornton and reporting to
the Board of Directors, the General Manager & Producer will be
responsible for the overall operations of the organization including:

-Production: acting as producer for all productions, events and tours. 
-Financial Management: Preparing, monitoring and revising the operating
and production budgets, and generating financial reports. -Human
Resources Management: overseeing the administrative and production
personnel, contracting all employees and contractors, negotiating with
appropriate labour organizations, working within the CTA. -Maintaining
good relations with government agencies, optimizing funding from
governmental sources, and, with the Artistic Director, preparing
operating and project grants for all levels of government. 
-Liaising with the Board of Directors

Successful candidates will have minimum 5 years of increasing
responsibility in general management and/or producing in the performing
arts. We seek a confident, enthusiastic and creative person; with strong
management skills, and who supports the organization\'s vision and
mission. 

This full-time position will start in January 2006. Salary will be
commensurate with experience. Nightwood Theatre is an equal opportunity
