JOB - ASSISTANT PROFESSOR - QUEEN'S UNIVERSITY

The Department of Drama, part of the Faculty of Arts and Science at 
Queens University, invites applications for a tenure-track position 
at the rank of Assistant Professor. The preferred candidate will be 
an experienced instructor with expertise in the areas of Acting and 
Directing. Demonstrated skills as a stage director, a facility for 
participating in curriculum development, and an ability to teach in 
one of the areas of Theatre for Young Audiences, World Drama, 
Canadian Theatre or Theatre History are of particular interest. The 
successful candidate's record will show abilities as an effective 
teacher at the University level and an ongoing record of either 
academic excellence (a Ph.D is preferred) or excellence in the 
theatrical profession.

The position will commence on July 1, 2006. Teaching responsibilities 
will include at least some of the following courses: DRAM237, 
DRAM238, DRAM330, DRAM431 and DRAM323. The normal course load in the 
Department is a total of 2.5 full credits over the fall and winter
terms.

The Department of Drama offers an undergraduate program with a major 
focus on theatre in Canada in its current and historical context. The 
program examines the theatre on a laboratory model in which practice 
and theory inform each other. For additional information about our

philosophy and research interests, and letters from three referees 
familiar with your work as a scholar, theatre professional and/or
