2006 Stage West - Equity Emerging Theatre Artist Award 

In October 2006, Equity will once again award one of its emerging
members with a cheque for $2,000 in recognition of their
professionalism, artistic excellence and innovation. 

The award will be adjudicated by Equity's Honours Committee. The Stage
West - Equity Emerging Theatre Artist Award will be announced at the
Association's annual Honours Luncheon.

Award Criteria:
- The award will be given to an Equity theatre artist who has been a
member of the association for less than three years. For 2006, the
artist will have joined after January 1st, 2003.
- The artist must demonstrate: professionalism, artistic excellence and
innovation within their craft.
- Qualifying artists must be full members of Canadian Actors' Equity
Association in good standing.
Application Process:
Eligible artists may put forward their own names, or be nominated by
another Equity member, or by a Theatre. Each application must include
the following:
- Artist's resume.
- A one-page letter of support from a maximum of three theatre
professionals (e.g. Equity member, Theatre manager or playwright).
- Applicant's full address, email and telephone number, and the address
and telephone number of the supporting theatre professional(s).
- Applications may also include additional documentation to a maximum of
five pages. No video will be accepted. Please do not send original
documents as materials submitted cannot be returned.
- Applications must be post-marked by August 31st, 2006.
- The decision of the selection committee is final.
